Mangaluru, 12 May 2015: The members of United Association of Karnataka, Kuwait here on Monday May 11, submitted a memorandum to Mangaluru south MLA JR Lobo, seeking his support for the cause of Air India Express (AIE) direct flight from Kuwait and Mangaluru.
After heavy lobbying by influential expats of undivided Dakshina Kannada and Kasargod districts, Karnataka ministers and politicians, AIE has restored the direct flight from Kuwait and Mangaluru a few months ago, even after it discontinued for a few months citing operational losses. Meanwhile, the losses persists that may force AIE to stall the services indefinitely unless expats from undivided Dakshina Kannada and Kasargod stick to AIE instead taking flights of other operators to Mumbai and travelling to Mangaluru by private airlines.
